Copycat Image is an image-specific detector which aims to prevent "copycat" fraud. This type of fraud occurs when someone forges an image document by changing the details on another person's image document to their own.

Copycat Image compares your submitted image document against our database of image documents. Photographic images by their nature should be quite unique - with different levels of brightness, shadows, angles etc. Hence finding a perceptually identical image with different details is very suspicious.

If we find a case like this, we flag a Copycat Image result. This lets you know that the image document has been submitted before under a different identity.
